Progressive drop of artisanal carpentry for the manufacture of crates, pallet boxes, pallets and fruit bins in response to the emergence of agricultural markets.
1976
Takeover
Takeover of the company by Gilles Barbarie, son of Robert Barbarie. Commercial development of the “palox”/pallets activity.
1990
Development
Development of the potato boxes market with more and more machined and specialized products. Parallel development of export to countries like Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Israel.
1999
Takeover
Takeover of Etablissements Marquet (Quinsac, Dordogne) allowing the integration of a sawmill and the manufacture of light pallets, called “lost”.
2000
Transformation
Transformation of SA Barbarie into SAS and creation of a holding company gathering Barbarie Palox and Marquet Palettes.
2020
Development
Barbarie Palox and Marquet Palettes continue their development alongisde the subsidiaries that have also joined the Sylvatek Group : Sipalex Emballages (2018), Sylvatrade Négoce (2019) and Beynel Palox (2020).

Barbarie Palox designs its wooden boxes with fresh French pine (1 to 2 months maximum) near its production site located in Dordogne (Massif des Landes de gascogne).
Machining and assembly are carried out essentially on its production site located in Dordogne.
Our boxes are made near you and support local employment.
